The Cottage a 1450 sq. ft. home
Originally built as a mother-in-law home, we spent our first winter there while our home next door was built. This gave us an excellent experience of what living in the cottage was like. Since it sits on a slight rise, the living room, dining and kitchen sit up higher, giving you a great view of the trees and pond. The trees are like a bird hotel with different types of birds living on each floor. The bedrooms are in the back and the 2nd bedroom is on ground level. The back porch entry is into the 2nd bedroom, making entry to the home easy for unpacking your car, or unloading groceries. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an en suite bathroom. This bathroom has a walk-in shower and ADA toilet. We do have a shower chair which we can put into the cottage for ease of use. The main bathroom has a bathtub and shower combo. There is a laundry room containing a washer, dryer, and ironing board with steam iron. Gather your own eggs from the hen house each morning. Fresh veggies available at 3 local farmers markets.

The town of Waynesville has several good restaurants, nice shops, recreation facilities, and is dog friendly. Summertime musical events are so plentiful, it is hard to choose. Folkmoot, an international festival of song, dance and friendship is a wonderful reason to visit in summer. Bluegrass music is plentiful, barbeque is cooking, and fireflies glow every night. Street dances are monthly.
The city of Asheville, also now known as "Beer City" by some, has a lot of entertainment choices. The Biltmore House is one of the more famous. We also have the Carl Sandburg Home in nearby Flat Rock. The NC State theater is also located there. The Grove Park Inn is another remarkable place to visit especially at Christmas with their gingerbread house competition. Asheville also is home to many artists with galleries exhibiting painting, weaving, ceramic arts, and just about any other form of art you can think of.
We are a destination for motorcycle riders, hikers, and fisherman. The Pigeon River is almost across the street from us and if desired, fishing guides are available. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, and the Appalachian Trail are all right close by.
We provide our vacation rental because we like people and we love the farm. Retired from our careers,
we think making memories with loved ones is a priority. That is what we seek to provide for our guests. As stewards of this farm, we work to keep it healthy and fun. We hope this shines through each and every moment of your stay.
